The selling profession is similar to a roller coaster one day you have highs and the next day lows. While there are thrills in riding a roller coaster the gyrations offered of selling do not offer similar thrills. Rude customers, slow orders and audacious goals create nervousness. In addition, the recent events of stock market volatility and economic instability have caused many hearts to pause. When individuals are busy the neurons of the brain create emotional stimulus. When the brain is active and happy so is the individual. It is imperative that you conduct research, go to lunch with a client, write a report, visit customers. Do not sit and lament. The best method for sour news is busyness. Get out of your office now and get busy doing something! Depression and anxiety manifest when we gather with other negative people. Remove yourself from negative individuals and situations. If the news is worrisome turn it off, if people are rude, leave. Do not succumb to foppish principles. The busier you become the better your mindset. Use a planner and develop methods that distract your mind. Allow routines to enter your daily life so that they keep you busy and enable you to work without interruptive negative patterns. Planning telephone calls, attending meetings and answering emails assist with a sense of stability and sanity. MasterCard’s advertising campaign is “Priceless”. So is life. Yours goes too quickly and you only have one. Take some time for you. Visit a park, exercise in the gym but do something that rewards you with some quality downtime. As you come closer to the finish line the only method to move you from the inside track to the fast track is actually doing something. Einstein stated, “Insanity is doing something the same way and expecting a different result”. Remove yourself from the comfort zone, develop new routines, get out of the stands and become an athlete. If you want change, if you see change, you have to create it.
