Happy New Sales Year Print
Written by Daniel Sitter

Happy New Year! Some will say "thank goodness 2007 is over" or "I hope 2008 is a better year." Many  however, will see the New Year as presenting themselves with a clean plate, a fresh start, a chance to begin again. Is that your view? Are you excited? You should be. Your opportunities are limitless!

Today is the first day of your New Year and the rest of your life! What are you expecting and anticipating in the next twelve months? 2008 will become exactly what you think about it being. Your very thoughts and self-talk will drive your journey through the coming  year. What will be steering you? Where will it take you?

What attitudes will you take into the New Year? Will you frustrate yourself by endeavoring to achieve new goals by employing the same old selling strategies? Here are eight suggestions that if employed, will make a huge difference in your sales success:

1.    Leave behind your baggage from 2007 and prior. Start fresh.

2.    Set the bar higher. Develop greater personal and professional expectations for yourself.

3.    Take personal responsibility for your current position and desired expectations.

4.    Set new goals and devise a written plan to achieve them. Do it now.

5.    Dive right in. Do not allow yourself to be just getting started on February 1st.

6.    Learn new skills and develop a broader network of contacts.

7.    Apply leverage to your efforts by utilizing your network.

8.    Be generous to others in all ways possible.

The New Year presents you with a superb opportunity for change and positive growth. Seize the opportunity. Your sales, personal and entrepreneurial growth and business success depend upon it.
